The Making of Initials Pendants
LACE introduces our new collection of Initials Pendants including all the letters of the alphabet, distinguished by LACE's touch of precision edge detailing. This unique initials pendant necklace features a three-dimensional script letter that is meticulously sculpted by architects in digital space and finished by skillful jewelers by hand. An easy-to-wear and versatile layering piece to be collected in your stable jewelry wardrobe or to give as the ultimate personalized gift.

Early Stages: From 2D to 3D
Developing the initials collection from the script font of the LACE by Jenny Wu logo, we first extracted the silhouette of each alphabet and then start building volume upon it. To create three-dimensionality of pendants, we spent lots of effort sculpting each character with crisp edge detailing by imitating the movement of a brush stroke during this 3D modeling stage. Once we approve the design from all angles, we move forward to prototype the piece in house.
Prototyping: From Digital to Physical Space
To finalize the scale and rigidity of the pendants, we printed the prototypes with our Fuse 1 SLS 3D printer in house at every iteration. This process helps us to visualize the right proportion of the pendant to the wearer's neck for everyday wear and tune the right thickness of curvature details and connections.
Material Studies: 3D Printing Casting Technology
At the final design stage, the Initials pendants were ready to be professionally 3D printed in wax, molded and cast in precious metal for reviewing its maximum definition. After the pendants were cast, each piece would be cleaned and hand polished by our skillful jewelers locally to reveal its sinuous geometry and intricate details as a wearable art piece!
